Harper lives here in Birmingham. He's counting to a million for charity. Check out the live video feed.

I just sent him an email during his lunch break:

"This is art is what this is. 276, 281 is my favorite so far!"

And he read it on feed.

Hmmm. I'm thinking I might do a little Chiff & Fipple drive for this guy. I think I might have a prize that might be suitable. Let's see... (opening the vault)...

It's weird -- I saw this and thought, "well, at one number per second, that's 3600 per hour. Shouldn't take too long to get to a million.

278 hours --23 days counting 12 hours per day. Give him two per second, and it's still 12 days. You gotta REALLY want to reach a million to do something like this.

I think his next feat ought to be reciting pi to a million decimal places.

Oh, no, no. He counts 16 hrs/day. He's doing about 16,000 counts per day. He's already in 47 days and he's at 576,500.

Two per second is way off. Try saying, "three hundred seventy seven thousand six hundred seventy nine, three hundred seventy thousand six hundred eighty" in one second.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

what a good curse that would be. "i curse you to count to one million in binary." maybe guru can figure it out in some language that would scare the beejeezus outta people or make them think you offered them niceties.

Sometimes when he is on break and not counting he turns off the audio so he can have a conversation with his girlfriend. Or whoever.

This is weirdly fascinating.

I guess. I mean, don't you think you'd be going crazy about now? I keep thinking he's going to start crying or screaming. Or maybe his girlfriend will.
