That is so beautiful. Thank you.

I have the Book of Common Prayer. I will have to find that now.

Cranberry,
You know that you'll be in my prayers. I had my entire thyroid out 5 years ago now. I had a cyst the size of an egg on it, and it interfered with everything (breathing, talking, eating). When they did the ultrasound to make sure it was a cyst, they found a tumour that was about 1/2 cm long. It did turn out to be cancerous, so I had my entire thyroid removed. The healing part wasn't all that bad...just make sure that you get plenty of rest, ok? Don't try to do too much too quickly. And, as always, you know that if you have any questions, feel free to pm or email me. Please let us know how you are doing when you are able to.

My thoughts are with you. You certainly have had a lot of uphill in your short life. Damn.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?

Thinking of you, mate.

No dawdling now. Get back to us as quickly as you can!

Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

Godspeed, Cran-- most of these thyroid surgeries turn out just fine and you'll hopefully be back on your feet in no time at all. Keep us posted.

Cran -
Our church has a prayer shawl ministry - folks prayerfully knit these shawls - we bless them at the altar - and send them out to folks as living prayer reminders that there is a community holding them in prayer and that there is a God who knows their need before we even ask.
I've PM'd you if you would like one for your surgery and recovery.
In any case - we're praying!

So tomorrow is almost here and I'm scared. *bites fingernails*

My friend Michelle, who is a nurse, is taking me to surgery and waiting for me and driving me home. I'm so blessed by God to have her here to do all that for me.

I understand your anxiousness completely. I was scared to death when I had mine done. But honestly, it's not all that bad. They were talking to me as they put in the IV with the sleepy-time stuff (I have no idea what it's called). They were asking me questions, and I was answering them totally coherently, and then the next thing I knew, I was waking up in recovery. I think a couple of hours had elapsed, but for me it felt like the span of only a few minutes. And the pain afterwards was minimal. I only had to take the morphine once (which was good because it made me feel kind of sick). After that, it was only ibuprofen.

PM me if you need to talk, ok? I'll be around most of the day...what time do you go in tomorrow morning?

You know your friends here will be thinking of you through it all.

May it go smoothely, with doctors and staff blessed with acute senses, high dexterity, good moods and inspired skills!
