Yeah, if your strategy is no better than "At least they're talking about us." That's a gambit eminently suitable for the lazy, the bereft of real ideas, and the irresponsible. Hope they're happy with that.

When a brand is building recognition, they are most definitely happy
with that. Once people remember their name, they can move on to
more traditional commercials which tout the product instead, and
people will forget those bygone ads. I had completely forgotten about
Quiznos' horrible spongemonkeys until Red and scottie brought them
roaring back (thanks a lot, ladies). In 2 years almost everyone will have
forgotten the ad but remembered the name. Jimmie Johns will have
gained many customers in the long term by alienating a few people
in the short term (people who would not have heard of them anyway).

But I guess you gotta filter out the spambots.

Meh....i really didn't think the commercial was that bad. After all the hype in this thread, I was expecting something genuinely world-shatteringly awful and/or bizarre. You know, like the Starburst "berries and cream lad" commercial.

Nope...but maybe I've been numbed by such commercials as the Skittles Leak.

I don't know, something that happy and fun must have a dark side.
