surgery for me

Post by Jack »

August 6th I'm having throat surgery to remove the left lobe of my thyroid and all the tumors that live on it. This is a long-awaited surgery, for the past two years I've been on various medications and such dealing with this problem, I've had two (inconclusive) biopsies, I've seen a thousand doctors, and lately I'm unable to talk or sing much past a certain point because the growths are irritating my voice box.

Tomorrow until August 4th I am not going to have access to the Internet except when I visit the public library, so I'd appreciate prayers for the surgery. I know it's early to talk about it, but that's why I'm asking now, because after tomorrow until 2 days before my surgery I'm going to be out of state.

I love you all this much:

My wife had a benign tumour removed from her thyroid, must be fifteen years ago, now.

Scared the slip out of me, but we got through it. They even made the incision along the line of the collar-bone so it won't show. And it doesn't.

Best of luck for the op, Cranberry.

good luck, Cran. If there's anything we can do from a hundred or so miles away, just ask.

Best of luck, cran. And try to get to the library when you can; we'll be missing you.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Strengthen your servant Cran, O God, to do what he has to do
and bear what he has to bear; that, accepting your healing
gifts through the skill of surgeons and nurses, he may be
restored to usefulness in your world with a thankful heart;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And eyes as gray as icicle fangs measure stranger
For size, honesty, and intent."
