She was born with a genetic defect which has left her looking like the Incredible Hulk of Hounds.

While her head, heart, lungs and legs are the size of those of a normal whippet, her gene defect means she is "double muscled"

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

I like how the article suggested she should maybe be called a "whoppet". That's a truckload o' dogflesh perched on such bitty feet. :boggle:

Did you read the Fark thread about this little pooch, jkwest?
There was another about a huge Newfie/Dane mix in the UK

I sure hope the idiots that breed pit bulls (and yes, I know there's no such thing as a "pit bull") around here don't see this!!!! :o

Oh, and if they keep calling folks with large muscles "genetic defects" they're liable to end up *ing off folks they reeeeaaally don't want to. ;p

Somehow, I don't think the dog spent hundreds of hours in the gym to achieve that physique.

That is sad. She's pitiful. And I can't call that a "normal" whippet head either. No......nothing I see is normal.

What Cranberry said- nice looking dog! The whole thing seems kind of sad to me at first, but then again, it's like the article says- she doens't realize she has a "genetic defect". She is what she is, and she seems to enjoy life. Seems that's what matters for a dog :)
