"Distance" Lessons Beginning.

Post by Harry »

Hi Y'all,

I'm now offering recorded lessons via email/ MP3 recordings.

Format will be: I send student an introductory lesson recorded as an MP3 explaining the outline of my approach to the flute, after that lessons will be structured around MP3s that students send me in response (where students will have recorded tunes or/and excercises that I set previously).

The lessons will be very much 'by ear', I doubt the situation will arises where I'll be sending written music.

Obviously a fairly high speed internet connection is desirible here. Either a device that can drop MP3 recordings onto your computer or a sound recording program like 'Audacity' (its free to download) and a simple microphone are essential (I'll be using 'Audacity' and a mic).

Drop me a line for more details:

harrybradley@eircom.net

Regards,

Harry.

I'm just curious, Harry, but is your avatar a good representation of how you will be treating your students? I think that I may be a little old for that type of "instruction". Good idea, though, about exchanging mp3 recordings and recorded feedback. I wish you well in your endeavor.

Funny, I keep watching that avatar, and expect the attacker to figure it out and change something.

What's the definition of insanity again?

BTW, email sent.

Hello again,

Given the variable email capacities of people's accounts, I've decided to host the lessons through the .mac 'idisk' facility.

This just means that I'll be swapping files with students through this host site, cutting out having to email large-ish and large files etc. etc.

Regards,

Harry.

Here's a sort of hair today and gone tomorrow boy. I know the benefit of your classes will be a lot more enduring.

Fair play to you ... great service to the flute world!

i do remember when you had that hairstyle , for sure

but your teeth were a little straighter then ?
were they really yours , or were you breaking them in for someone ?

and the distance learning project .
just how far away do i have to be ?

best wishes with it , Harry ,cinnte , is tusa an cuisle !

(the belts ? to be sure , they never did me any great harm , in fact , the odd one around the ears made me the man i am today ...)
