I like Dino Jr.'s version, but it can't touch the original. Without Robert Smith's half-hysterical vocals -- especially that way he just barely fails to hit the high notes -- without the cheesy organ and the piano, the song becomes something lesser.

Wow, I think the only thing I like about the Dino Jr. version is the
headbanging puppets. Otherwise, the song and video both are a
disatrous mess. There are Cure songs which I'm sure would stand
up to a punk/grunge updating, but Just Like Heaven doesn't seem
to be one of them.

I also thought it was interesting that I felt the instrumental intro
in the Dinosaur Jr. version seemed incredibly long, then I checked
and it was exactly the same length as the Cure version... perhaps
the lack of the keyboard layer made it seem longer.

But, y'know, that's just me. I also prefer Pepsi over Coke.

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)
