Acceptable ?? or Sacrilege ??.
You may have woken up, in the middle of the night screaming, but on coming to your sences realised,No ! it doesn,t happen.
You may have heard the rumours here on the forum, but in the back of your mind you knew ,no it doesn,t really happen !!!
Well I,m very sorry to have to do this, but here is the proof !!
This is a coyne full set in B ,its hard to tell from the photo but the three regs are there, its just that its hung on the wall the wrong way . I was told that Alain Froment measured this set ,and concluded that it would be a very playable set indeed ,and he may have very well based the set he made for Liam O,Flynn on this set .
Talking to the owner of the bar I learned that the set has been there for more than fifty years !!

PS note the drawing of "Gandsey ,king of the Kerry pipers" below the pipes.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps. - Location: Lefse country
See, now if ever there were an acceptable use for Pakistani sets, it would be screwed to the wall as art in the theme pubs.
Please return the real thing to the piping community and hang up one of Sialkot City's best! I don't think most of the patrons would notice much. It's the idea, after all.

Heartbrakingly pityful! There is one comfort, though: As long as it hangs there it won´t be interfered with.

Isn't this a set on whose pitch a gifted genius attempted to "correct", pitchwise, hence the wall adornment?
Or an early Ginsberg.... the bellows certainly looks that way Not that that's any indication.
Where's Peter when you need him!?

Coyne set
The pub owner told me on two occasisions, that an eldery piper that frequently played at this pub, and whom owned this set became ill and asked the owner to hold them for him. Yes, this was some 50 years ago. The piper passed away, and the owner eventually hung them on the wall where they have since stayed. He told me that he plans to eventually donate them to a local well known museum. I do not believe that they were ever tampered with since reaching its "elevated" status on the great wall. Like others I am sure, I left the owner my number if he should ever change his mind.

Re: Coyne set
Of course, that would be the best way. The second best would be if you could convince him to donate them to NPU instead of a f........ museum as that would mean that they were played and not just looked at.Piobairi Uilleann Inis Fa wrote: He told me that he plans to eventually donate them to a local well known museum.
