It tastes like Sprite with a dose of Cool Mint Listerine.

The only amuse English speakers.

I reread your posting and realized the first time I read it I assumed it was a (coca-) cola flavored drink with additional cucumber and mint flavoring added.

Here in Chicago only carbonated soft drinks (soda pop) with cola flavoring in them are referred to as a cola drink, usually called a "coke".

If you asked for a "coke" or a cola and the restaurant didn't carry Coca-cola they might ask if the brand Pepsi was ok
but they certainly wouldn't confuse your request with requesting a lemon lime soda pop, root beer soda pop, orange soda pop, et cetera.

Somethings do get lost in translation. That's why interpreters call themselves interpreters instead of translators. There's usually culture to be dealt with.

No, unlike kifer, doogh does not have any alcohol (to my knowledge).

Well the Iranian bottled stuff does taste like carbonated sour milk with soft chunks in it.
