Hi y'all,

I'm experimenting with some live video/audio broadcast using ustream.tv

I'll be testing tonight (Wednesday, June 6) at Midnight pacific time.

Here's the URL:

Its a Java based site, there is also text chat, so we can interact. No need to sign up or anything, its all free and very simple to use, just go to the page.

There's also a link on the TradLessons home page for future reference.

Hope to see some of you there tonight!

If it works well, there can be all kinds of fun uses in the future.

Java.net socket exception..

Can't speak to the Java issue, I didn't have any problems with the site, had 5 others during the hour conference who didn't have an issue. Not sure what to suggest.

General consensus was that that video frame rate was quite low, but that the audio quality was quite good, once I got the levels right. So its quite useable for an audio conference (one to many) with text chat and some video feedback, but probably not good enough to show technique visually.

The next live conference will be this Sunday, June 10 starting at 9 PM PDT.

I'm glad I took Monday off, since now I might actually be able to conference with y'all Sunday night at 11pm central.

can anyone translate 9 PM PDT into GMT?

PDT is GMT-7.

So 2100 PDT is 0400 GMT, and I guess 0700 in Israel?

Aren't you doing Daylight Saving Time, nadav?

That makes you GMT+3 right now, since GMT doesn't move.
