Any Lunasa fans?
Anyone into Lunasa? I'm really enjoying a couple of their albums currently. "Otherworld" and "The Merry Sisters of Fate". Great music!

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

I saw them in Chicago at the Old Town School of Folk Music a couple months back. Dervish "opened" for them at the second concert. All I can say is "amazing"! In fact, both groups the same night, back-to-back in the same venue, was so worth the time. They will be at the Chicago Celtic Fest in September and I plan on going back specifically to see them.
BTW - I was at the Chicago Gaelic Park Irish Fest (my inlaws live there, and so I'm in the city A LOT!) this past weekend and saw Solas for the umpteenth time and was very, very happy. They played a lot of their "old" stuff - not too much of the contemporarish sort of tunes that have shown up on the last couple of disks. I was ssssoooo happy. If they stick w/the same format, they are definately worth seeing if you can get to them.

TUENDA supported Lunasa last 12th may at the Marquee. Tuenda is a Spanish band with a very simple but very creative formation combining voice, bouzuki, fiddle and flute that has become a reference of the Asturian Folk. The flute player is Pepin Menendez and true, he's very talented.Whistling Willie wrote:I seen Lunasa play in Belfast 2 weeks ago and they were fantastic, there was a spanish band on before them with an amazing flute player, but I cant remember their name.
