Apparently it's worse this year, or they're carrying some new disease, or they've turned blue and fight crime. I dunno.I.D.10-t wrote:Doesn’t that happen every spring?chrisoff wrote:Strangely enough there have been warnings on the news here recently about increased tick activity and hikers have been told to check their ankles and legs when they get off the mountains.
Oh, it's due to increases in Lyme disease:

Yeah, you don't want a country of Lymies right next to a country of Limeys. Just think of the confusion it would cause.chrisoff wrote:Apparently it's worse this year, or they're carrying some new disease, or they've turned blue and fight crime. Ticks, one of the few things I hate about summer. I pull them off the dogs on occasion.....and once in a rare while off myself. Eh, there's worse things...although I admit few are really worse....
But, that reminds me of the big ole rubber tick, about 6" wide, that a drug company left at our office as part of a marketing display. We had more fun with that thing.....

Chiggers don’t have the same psychological effect as ticks do. With a chigger, you know and feel the bite, with a tick you can start getting paranoid.jsluder wrote:Chiggers are much worse than ticks, in my book.Joseph E. Was that tickle at the back of my neck the wind or a tick?
Do I have a tick I don’t know about? Better check again.
Is that itch on my leg a tick?
Now that I checked, are my cloths tick free or should I change?
Etc.
