<drool>These lists can keep going forever as far as I'm concerned. Don't forget Voyage of the Acolyte by Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett.

But as you have noted yourself, these lists aren't exclusive to one trio. And who could mention Tull without a nod to their opus, Thick as a Brick? I'm also fond of Too Old to Rock and Roll and Songs From the Wood.

I'm glad to see Heavy Horses get a nod. That is my favorite Tull tune. I painted it and it hangs in my dining room. I was reading through this thread thinking- Heavy Horses. I'd have to go with Aqualung though for perfect album.

I forgot about Rubber Soul- I agree- perfect!!!!

What about albums that literaly turned pop music on it's ear?

Meet the Beatles-their first on Capitol label,Nirviana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, or Pearl Jam's Ten immediately come to mind. Sorry, I considered the 70s disco era a vast wasteland.

Funny how many of us tend to go to our "teen years" for first choice of perfect albums.

This one's worth mentioning. The whole album is so enjoyable, first song to last. It's perfect for road trips.

Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk

There arn't many albums that are good from start to end. There's always that song that got thrown in to make the album just long enough to be an album . . . they're always the songs I skip or leave out when I make a tape for the car.

Here's another fun one.

B52's - Cosmic Thing
I sing the birdie tune
It makes the birdies swoon
It sends them to the moon
Just like a big balloon

Have to agree on the great choices by Denny especially Looking In by Savoy Brown and American Beauty by The Grateful Dead. I don't know if these would be my top 3 picks but reading this thread triggered some memories on other albums;

Loosen Up Naturally- Sons Of Champlin
The Notorious Byrd Brothers- The Byrds
Retropective- Buffalo Springfield (I know, a best of, but still stands on it's own i think)

...also get more than a little nostalgic thinking of those Jethro Tull albums like Songs From the Woods (Velvet green) The first time i saw Tull they were doing A Passion Play -not their most popular album but a memorable concert of it! Actually also saw The Who doing Tommy at the Berkeley Community Theatre...sorry about almost name dropping!
