Perhaps I was off the mark with my dressing down. But I don't feel that Iemmline wrote:Oh, and I suppose you doubt that hanging a small jade

was. You didn't feel that the comments in question showed any
disrespect - I do. [No disrespect toward you intended here, but] You
seem to wear the "practicing Catholic" badge as if it gives you some
authority on this forum to tell me what I should think or feel. I, too, am a
practicing Catholic with a few hours of religious study in both my
undergraduate and past seminary training. But I don't think that gives
me any more of a right to tell you if your feelings are more right or wrong
than mine or anyone else's.
Whether it was intentional on Emm's part, I can't say - I, too, sort of
doubt that any blatant disrespect was intended. But I still feel it was, shall
we say, not a very smart comment, with just a hint of ridicule, perhaps?
If her ridicule about the "aura of empowerment"was directed at me, then
I can accept that - I'm an easy target. It seems to me, though, that there
may be something more there - which is ridiculing what she
incorrectly thinks is part of someone's faith? That seems to be the en
vogue thing to do these days. ...Or so the hip people tell me.
Anyhow, only Emm can really say what she intended with her remarks,
and why she chose to express herself in the way she did. I have nothing
personally against her, only what I feel was communicated by her. I am
now leaving on a long weekend. Give my regards to all the Foleys.
