Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Oh, sorry.

Let's see..........I like that one Kelly Clarkson song but I don't know the name. It's in 6/8 if that helps. (P.S., I love a board where I can say it's in 6/8 and it's actually useful information).

And I do like a lot of old Barry Manilow. It's pop at it's finest.

Oh, and most of 'Saturday Night Fever' album. Does that count?

I honestly hear very little current pop.

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

This is frightening, but I watched Justin Timberlake's video for
"What Goes Around Comes Around" on youtube awhile back. I
don't usually care for music videos anymore, but it had Scarlett
Johansson (yum!) in it. Anyway, during the course of the video, JT
finds out Scarlett is cheating on him, and chases her out of the club.
They get into some uberfast cars and have a car chase through the
city. Scarlett runs afoul of another car that is inexplicably stalled
and burning in the street, flips her ride and dies in JT's arms.

Now for some background: Justin used to date Britney Spears. She
broke up with him. Since this song came out shortly after Britney
and Kevin Federline split, many people think the song is JT
thumbing his nose at Britney (you could've had me, sucker!) Then
the video came out, and people realized JT just wants Britney dead
in a fiery car crash. So, apparantly, he's no longer satisfied with just
ripping off women's brassieres during major sporting events.

I can't see the appeal of Justin Timberlake. Visually, I mean. Just me I guess.

However, if we're truly bent on embarrassing revelations:
I like I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys.

I also like 5 For Fighting.

Walk Like An Egyptian -- The Bangles.

I actually have an a cappella version (by the Bangles) on a "modern a cappella" sampler CD. I like it better than the instrumented version.

No, it's not just you. I don't see it either, emm. In my (not always so humble) opinion, he's right up there with Mr Flatley :P

I do love 80's pop.

The Outfield - Your Love

The Hooters - And We Danced
The song that made me buy a melodica.

Nena - 99 Luftballons

Mr. Mister - Kyrie

Men At Work - Down Under

Pat Benatar - We Belong

...and this song always makes me happy:

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance

Okay, I'm another who's been known to enjoy Herman's Hermits (Anyone else see Peter Noone on Idol last week?), and I believe I married into the Monkees' greatest hits on vinyl.

I haven't seen the Rascals mentioned:

People got to be free
Easy Rollin'
Groovin'
Good Lovin' (They loved apostrophes)
How can I be sure
(the list goes on and on)

I identify the Rascals with summer every bit as much as I do the Beach Boys. Whom I love, too.

Hmmmm, pop songs??? These are one's that from the first hearing, I went- Whoa! I LIKE that!
in some vague chronological order.....you know this is kinda hard, when I get to thinking back, and try to get the "fluff", or sappy stuff, that for some twisted reason appeals to me.....

Shakira- Hips Don't Lie- what a great dance tune!!!!

Gwen Stefani-Hollaback Girl

Eminem- Without Me

Lifehouse- Hanging by a Moment

Lady Marmalade- all incarnations

Outkast- Hey Ya

Dave Matthews Band- Space Between

B52's - Love Shack

REM- Shiny Happy People

Seal- Kiss From A Rose

Edwin McCain- I'll Be

C&C Music Factory- Gonna Make You Sweat

Sinead O'Connor- Nothing Compares to You

Men At Work- Who Can It Be Now

Rick Springfield- Jesse's Girl

Christopher Cross- Ride Like the Wind

Eddie Money- I Wanna Go Back

yeah.... after editing, I can live with this list. These are all tunes that still bring a smile to my face, a bounce in my step, or sometimes I just have to DANCE!
