half set dry run..

Post by rgouette »

I've made a new friend up here in Maine & he's a experienced piper..always a good thing..
Well, since I'm shortly to receive my 1/2 set Childress upgrade, he brought over his D set for me to try out.
I've never played anything but my own practice set till now.
Total coolness.

He also has a B & C set
I played his C chanter, and can see the attraction toward flat sets!

And lo, the lord of the pipers did say,
'Cast down these concert D sets for they are loathsome to my ears.'

And the pipers did cry, 'Without the wailing heights how shall we play the Theme from Braveheart?'
And the lord did force them to play bodhrans and low whistles and kazoos and recorders and stylophones and all manner of abominations. And there was much gnashing of teeth, but no wailing.

And the lord spaketheth eth ethetheth,
'It shall be the flat sets that are lovely to me, especially those in the holy key of C, which are smooth and soft as a lamb's knackers.'

Here endeth the lesson.

You can send your drones to me once you've played them for a little bit. I'll break them in for you. ;)
