That certain well-known women will get complaints on C&F whereas others won't. So far it's proving true...

dear cranberry: i don't think that it would be "women's" faces. we'd have similar pros and cons with men's faces. the jackasses would distrub us and the nice men, we'd like.

Yes, the Klezmer Conservatory Band's singing is in Yiddish, but I figured Wombat opened the gates to expand the disussion by mentioning klezmer. Blame it on the marsupial!

Are you a woman? If you're not, then you probably haven't noticed that women are held to a different standard in our society. Janet Reno (for example) would be called ugly a thousand times quicker than Alberto Gonzales would.

dear cranberry: to some of us, it's what a person says or does that makes them beautiful. mother teresa is way more beuatiful than ann coulter could ever hope to be. unless of course, ann repents, then there may be hope.

to answer your question: no i am not a woman. i am a man that is totally homely that doesn't give much of a hoot about my appearance. i fully recognize and appreciate that i am not judged on my appearance to the same level that women are scrutinized. that doesn't solve the problem for women but it solves the problem for me. amazingly, someone married me over 20 years ago and still thinks i'm cute.
