I would rate Colin Goldie (Overton) best, followed by O'Brien, followed by Burke.
There are many outstanding whistles, but the whistles from these three makers are just lovely.

Sindt would get a lot of votes. The Whistle Collector wrote:i just want to hear everybodies opinions. thats all.Brian Lee wrote:None of the above. John Sindt. Followed very closely by Mack Hoover - though for different reasons. What exactly are your criteria that makes one "the best"?

"Best" is such a subjective and changing term. There are days when what I really want to hear is a regular old Clarke, so on that day, that's the "best" whistle. Other times, I want the sound and feel of my Schultz Bb, or my Overton A, etc. I think all of the established makers make terrific whistles, but I'd be really hard pressed to pick an overall "best".
