I could use some moral support ...

Post by Jerry Freeman »

The repercussions of this snow disaster we've had in upstate New York have left me pretty well shredded.

I've had some financial losses and a setback to my health from the overexertion trying to save my mobile homes from collapsing under the snow. It's not serious as health problems go, but it will require some surgery before I can do many normal tasks again. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to deal with it, the costs involved, and the loss of ability to do important work until it's resolved.

There have been a few other challenges that would normally be easy enough for me to push through. However, the total load seems to have exceeded what I'm equipped to handle, and I've gone into a sort of psychological/mental shutdown mode.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts, words, prayers.

Best wishes,
Jerry

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Tell us something.: From the land beyond beyond. From the time past hope and fear. I bid you, Genie, now appear! Well, the Genie did not appear but the notification to type at least 100 characters did so I am back and typing some more as you, if anyone actually sees this, can probably tell.

This brings a new shade of meaning to the phrase "Bad things happen to good people." You're a gem, Jerry. I wish I could reach through the screen and hug you really hard (assuming it wouldn't hurt, of course)!!

*hugs*

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Here's the thing: that much snow is damn hard no matter the circumstances, and to just get to where you are is amazing. Best wishes.

Wishing you all the best Jerry. The mere 2 ft of snow we got here was bad enough-- I can only imagine what dealing with 10+ was like!

Remember, Jerry, that time is the great healer. Before you know it, it will be Spring and the snow will be gone and the robins will be bobbing on the grass where the snow now is piled. You will be feeling better about everything, I am sure. In the meantime all of us at C & F will be thinking positive thoughts for your recovery, both physical and financial.

Just sit back, take some cleansing breaths, and watch the children. Won't fix everything, but it keeps the most important things in focus.
Sending you good vibes JF.

In only a few more months, this will all be over. I've been wondering how you've been getting along. Hang in there.
