Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus

Very cool. I guess they just don't make 'em like they used to.

Lovely bike.

Had to tell someone- TUFO makes 700x25 tubulars. Mounted them up on my Ksyriums and went for ride around the Palos Verdes peninsula near Los Angeles. A great bike ride and the tires were amazing. Use about 100 psi in them; took the harshness out of the Ksyriums and attenuated that annoying road buzz that you get from tar strips and poor surfaces. About a 40 mile ride with 1500 feet of climbing.

Wow, I have heard that there are some tubulars for clincher wheelsets, never seen them and always wondered if they would work. I belived that the alu side would take away the tubular effect and that they would behave more or less as a normal clincher tube with tire.
Now you got my curious

What about glue, do you have to use the sticky stuff to assure a nice fit? That has always been my main reason to keep away from tubulars.

Nice post :D

BTW, new bikeis now set and ready to go, had to wait a few weeks for a new headset. I'll try to get some riding photos up next week.

The Tufos are real tubulars, used the tape to mount them to the rim. WORKS GREAT. I'm not going back to using glue if I can help it.

Here is a pic of me after my 100 mile Century ride in Yosemite Valley.

I rode 100 miles in 12 hours on a beautiful May day in 1989 atop my 54" 1885 Rudge Light Roadster.

It was made in Coventry, England and I purchased it it 1987 from a fellow club member in Concord, Mass.

I have ridden it at IVCA Rallys in England, Scotland, Holland, and Belgium.

The pub crawls are the best!

I still ride it as often as I can. It is a real rush if traffic!

Image

Also some close ups of my wheel.

Cheers! Richard

It has a 54" front driver and a 17" rear trailer. It is a fixed axle so coasting is only with your feet off the pedals.

I have ridden it at IVCA Rallys in England, Scotland, Holland, and Belgium.

Finally took delivery of my new (to me, at least) bike. Apparently my young bob-tail likes it quite a lot ... cats are amazing in their ability to leap up onto something not entirely stable, without sending it over. Somehow I don't expect him to tolerate an actual ride. :)

I have my first digital camera, so I thought I would take a photo of my bike this morning.

Not a fancy road bike, but it gets the job done.

It's a nice one. In the snow it will work better than a fancy road bike!
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm
