Seems that the song was released in 2006 and is making commentaries about the human tragedies, the environment, war and the use of god as a justification for human activities. In the background it shows news footage.

I believe it is country music.

Sorry, you must be fairly young to think the evening news is any different now than it has been for the last fifty years, or even before there was any evening news. All the quiet reflection in the history of mankind has done nothing to alleviate it or made any significant change.
