semi-CP - care for a glimpse of the latest R&D ? ...

A photo of the unfinished new SuperShepherd with expanded capacity - that's 19 whistle and/or flute sections and a cleaning rod!! I'm very pleased. :D I'm going to more serious support in the rigid inserts, and will be tweaking the slot sizes, but it is working well. It has both a handle and a removable shoulder strap, plus a pocket on the back. The longest single section it will hold is 16 inches long, with a bit to spare.

Here are a couple of pics of the finished case:

Well... back to the mines. :)

Very nice. The backing appears very stiff in the photos - excellent work.

Annie - Took a quick look at your site - it's very nice. Don't be afraid, but it looks like we have a great deal in common - including homeschooling, geanology and being among the few human beings to read and enjoy "The Humanure Handbook". Wow.

Thanks, DQ! No, not embroidery ... but I do make them myself.

The knot is tied, stabilized, and then stitched down to the cover of the case... it's the result of much wrestling with decorative cord, a few poked fingers, and a puff or two of blue air (I try, but my resemblence to a mule skinner just wins out at times). I have a couple of favorite patterns, depending on the size of the case it is going on.

Wow, I just got it. I just bought a vertical messenger bag that will serve many purposes but is also perfect for transporting whistles, recorders, sheet music, etc. to lessons. But, Annie makes whistle bags that one can treasure for a long time. Voila la difference!

Great work Annie. I'm impressed with not only the design, but the attention to the details that are the mark of good craftsmanship.

Thank you all!

I was only expecting to be able to up the capacity to maybe as many as 16. It was a surprise to have it work out to 20 functional slots! I alternated odd and even sets, so that the whistles will not be bumping into each other even when the case is closed.

I am open to suggestions for further improvements. (Sorry, marble is not a feasible custom option. )

Very Nice! It is nice when you find out you have more room for more whistles than you planned!

By the way, thanks for the advice on my velvet-lined whistle case a week ago. It was very helpful.
