WAIT A MINUTE!!!

If we're gonna talk ginger ale, it just HAS to be Ale 8! Produced in beautiful eastern Kentucky, and, like Coors used to be, best consumed there.
Not only is it ginger ale, but it has caffeine!! And you can still get it in real, glass bottles!
I know someone that can tell you the best vending machine in Stanton KY to get it from.......

My favorite ginger ale is Reed's Jamaican-style, but it has to be the no-fructose "Premium Ginger Brew": 17 grams of fresh ginger root, lemon, lime, honey, pineapple, herbs and spices. Yum.

I rarely drink other sodas; too sweet (even the diet ones). I mainly drink water, with the occasional coffee (1 cup per day), hot tea, lime-ade, or beer.

After all this multicultural exposure on C&F, I end up giving "pop", "soda", and "soft drink" equal time now because I can't remember what the heck I used to call it. The locals find it, and thus me, exotic. I hope that's an improvement.

You used to call it "pop" Nano. Trust me. You're from the midwest.

I'll have to trust you on that. It all seems so lost in the mists of time, now.

You know what's unfortunate is that I now can only drink that really expensive stuff at the grocery store, or get the bulk stuff and make it myself. Lipton just doesn't do it for me anymore :P Oh, and I'm getting to the point that the herbal stuff is pretty much intolerable. Just doesn't have enough kick to make it taste like TEA! ;)

What? That might be a reason not to move there ;)

If you've ever had the following conversation, you're from the south:

"I think I'll have a Coke."
"What kind?"
"Pepsi."

My Dad was from the mountains of western North Carolina and he called it "dope"- as in- "I'm drinking a dope." Maybe that was a throw back to the original recipe Cocoa Cola?
