Well Congratulations.

And it's important to all of us. I am curious whether this fine looking woman is an instigator or a moderator of your political views. I ask because I suspect that no couple is in complete agreement on many things, especially politics. I also believe no one has a greater impact on one's views than one's mate. In my case everything about my wife's life has been more conservative, traditional etc. than mine. I'm the politcally active lefty who taken the odd road through life. That said, any political boss, war-monger, corporate giant, over-paid athlete, actor or musician would gladly leap into the lowest levels of the abyss than face the judgement she would hand to them.

Steve, you are absolutely correct; you are fortunate. Having a friend, lover, and helpmate by your side for 30 years is a real blessing. Congratulations on your anniversary. Thanks for posting the beautiful photo.

Thank you all. If a cynical owld atheist like me can be blessed, then I'm blessed for sure! :)

We agree on most things political, though I'm the one who does the digging and delving to try to see the bigger picture. We talk about it a fair bit but we don't argue about it (we argue about plenty of other things!). In fact we talk to each other a lot and I think that's been one of the keys to our happy marriage. She's definitely kept me on the straight and narrow in many respects. We have just one pot of money known as "the bank account" that we dive into more or less ad lib (with just an anxious backward glance), which means we're not very good at saving up. But the teachers' pension scheme we're both in isn't too bad...

Congrats to the two of you. It's not easy. Long marriages are but a recent thing in human history and the deck is stacked against them in today's world. You done good.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?
