I kind of like his work (along with the other fellows') in "The Telluride Sessions", by Strength in Numbers.

Strength in Numbers was, I think, a one-off "supergroup" formed of Jerry Douglas (dobro), Sam Bush (mandolin), Bela Fleck (banjo), Edgar Meyer (bass), and Mark O'Connor (violin).

Fun stuff, I think.

That Mark O'Conner guy can play a bit.

Don't start me talkin' on that one..

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

When my daughter was little, the only music we could play in the car was Sesame Street tapes. One day, we had a tape of JT's 'Never Die Young' with a wolf on the cover. She saw it and cried Doggie.

"Want to hear the doggie tape" I asked.

"Yeah."

she loved it.

We quickly figured out that she couldn't tell one JT album from another and as long as we called it the Doggie Tape she'd let us play it.

So all our trips for the next couple of years we listened to either Sesame Street or James Taylor.

I would normally make a joke like, "Well, no one can tell a difference his albums, really," but Mr. Taylor doesn't deserve my flippant glibness.

I remember reading an article--I can't remember where, I might do a search--that listed the top ten men who contributed to the "sissification" of men everywhere. I believe James Taylor was #1.

edit: It was in Blender, but I can't find an online copy.

I thought Landau had been removed from the line-up because of substance abuse issues? He and James shared a taste for heroin.

His solo on Steamroller Blues on the live album was really cool. it'd be really sweet if all that was history.

I've loved James Taylor since I first got "Sweet Baby James" on 8 track.

Sissyfyin feller? I don't think so. He's got charisma and more.

I can't believe, well actually I can, that I forgot to watch that.

Crap.

He's pretty decent all right. One of my favorite Mark O'Connor CDs is "Heros". He plays with all his favorite fiddlers. Rich with genre goodness.

Big James Taylor fan here, in fact I have that James Taylor tribute on DVD. Great stuff. Also, great performances by Sting, Erykah Badu and Keith Urban.

We love James Taylor too. I can't hear "Carolina on My Mind" without tearing up (I'm a California girl from the word go, but I really loved North Carolina too).

I always loved that bit at the end of Lighthouse where Carole King joins in.
