Hard-won yet useless skills

Post by s1m0n »

A recent period without the internet has allowed me to verify that I have lost little of the blazing speed with which I once impressed no one at the ancient and noble game of minesweeper.

I'm the fastest person I know, and no one cares.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours and set high scores on all three levels of the game on my install of xp. I hadn't played in years, but it all came back.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

In my capacity as Internet-Sworn Minister,

I award you the Title "Admiral of the Minesweepers".

This is a Nominal title only and no pecuniary stipend is associated (sorry).

Well Done!

My wife's entire family can (and do) do that, and though it's never been mentioned, I believe that drinking (heavily) is part of the capability.

Good ole minesweeper.

I once had a version that used hexagons instead of squares.

I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Oh yeah? I can wiggle one ear at a time. I can make one ear
go forward while the other goes backwards. I can wiggle them
in circles in different directions. So there!

But can you put them back on in the dark? :D

I don't know if it qualifies as a useless skill or not, but I can make maille armour.

For those that are unfamiliar to the game here is the wikipedia entry Minesweeper

It even has the cheat codes.
