This CD is amazing. "Make It Rain" is one of my favorite songs in the last couple of years.Bloomfield wrote:Tom Waits time.

Nice, thanks for turning me on to that.bradhurley wrote:

I wonder why they only link to the samples on the French amazon?
The same company owns the files, surely all they have to do is share
the link?
The one that really drew me in was "Dans La Chaleur..."bradhurley wrote:"M'En Voulez-Vous" is very catchy.
Very groovy.

Ah, if it's photos you want, there are more of her here, including a couple of videos:johnkerr wrote: Brad, is the thrill one would get from listening to this CD any greater than the thrill one (okay, maybe a hetero male or a lesbian 'one', to be specific) will get fom gazing at the cover photo, trying not to drool? Because if it's not, you know maybe I'd just as soon keep gazing at the photo...

Hmm. She's either over-dressed in those web page photos, or under-dressed in her CD cover shot - take your pick. Do I detect a bit of marketing at play here? (Might it be working?) Whatever. Definitely enjoyable, though. And I can't even watch the videos or listen to the sound samples until I get home from work today...bradhurley wrote:Ah, if it's photos you want, there are more of her here, including a couple of videos:

They are worth watching, and the sound quality is much better than what you will hear on Amazon.fr.johnkerr wrote:And I can't even watch the videos or listen to the sound samples until I get home from work today...
Her songs all sound a bit the same after a while, and her waiflike poses grate on me a little, but she's definitely an intriguing and promising singer. I've been hearing her on the radio here for a while and apparently they did a spot on her on NPR in the States a few months ago.

Today I'm listening to a swedish prog rock group called Pain of Salvation (a local band from my area). Some good and certainly interesting music, a lot of diversity, very creative and progressive. I enjoy it, when I'm in a certain mood.
Have a listen. Here are a couple of clips.

They've done lots and lots of different stuff, but the second clip is a bit more representative of most of their material as you might have guessed (the video for the second clip has nothing to do with the band or the song BTW)

WOW that was my first fiddle book way back when. Robin had a gig out in L.A. and I got him to teach me Hewlett as my very first fiddle tune.emmline wrote: Robin Williamson playing Fiddle Tunes from his music book of that name,

include a good bit of falling water and white clothing, for what it's worth.

Conal's recording is a must-have if you're a flute player. Incredibly powerful and exuberant, perhaps just a *bit* over the top in terms of forcing the tone, but loads of fun to listen to.fel bautista wrote:How is that Conal O'Graida CD. Is that Moire's brother???
And yes, he's Maire Ni Ghrada's brother.

Ditto everything Brad says. At times it seems like Conal is playing against his flute. Incredibly pulse. I love his version of Haste to the Wedding (learned it off him, in fact).bradhurley wrote:Conal's recording is a must-have if you're a flute player.
