Just thought I'd ask if anyone else plays it, what way do you play it on the squeallers?

Copy and paste the "abc"s to

to see the dots

Thanks Tom.

I learnt the tune after listening to a scratchy taperecording of Joe McLaughlin playing it with ( I presume) his fiddle-playing brother Dermot.

Many years later I discovered by chance that I'd worked (as a doctor) with their other brother Philip, who was a surgeon in Derry at the time I worked there.

I learned that (in D) from a tape of Jerry O'Sullivan, ca. 1985. Jerry got it from Robbie Hannon.
Kind of a stupid title. Makes me think of hot dogs. Apparently Dinky was a huge guy, like the Hells Angel they knicknamed "Tiny."

The oldest recording of Dinky's I have that I can think of is on Ceol na dTéad, an album of fiddling by Francie and Mickie Byrne. (CIC078)

Yikes, Patrick.....that's nice! ...even if it is a bit "mad savage".

by the way, Eliot J points out that the first tune in that set is called.....
"The One Before Dinky's"

You're right on the money there..

..they're playing it a lot faster than I'd usually play it, but thats what it is

for what its worth, I play Dinky's in D then follow it with a version of Séan sá Ceo that I have that is in (I think) D as well:

1st part
|: (AcA)Gc AD3| A3E G2ED |EAAG A3G |(EFG)cA GD (EFG) :|

2nd part
| FD3 FD(EFG)| FD3 G2AG| FD3 AD3 |(EFG)cG E3G |
| FD3 FD(EFG)| FD3 G2AG| FD3 AD3 |(EFG)cA GABc |

3rd part
|d2 fd edfd| defd A3B| c2 ec d2 ec |Adec ABcA|
|d2 fd edfd| defd A3B| c3e dcAB| c3A GE FG|

Now I hope you're all impressed  ...or maybe you all play this one too
