MK Whistles
I think the wood whistles win hands down on this one. Hard to beat the texture and unique look of a well made wooden instrument.
In metal, whistles, however, I like the MK Whistles because the colors are so striking.
Understand they sound good too, but I missed my chance to see them in a local store. Sold out!

- Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free - Location: Loren has left the building.

- Tell us something.: irish music, specifically slow airs played on different whistle keys, also lower keyed flutes like Bb, but only from modern makers who have managed to get the hole spacing a little closer. And finally learning some fiddle tunes, mainly slow airs again so that the whole family don't go mad with the sound of a cat being strangled.

Hi Guys and gals,
I've not seen one in the flesh, but am considering a purchase soon, of a Silkstone Ace D+, fab design four sections with rings, really looks the business.

most handsome whistle
Weird whistles he? I saw them at Colin Goldie's, he has them in his collection as well. I didn't like the way they play, the holes don't play nicely especially when you have thicker fingers, they are very breathy, take loads of air. Don't know where they come from though.jsluder wrote:I don't own one of these, but I like the rustic look:

I'm not voting on most handsome, since I'm somewhat prejudiced...
I do have one of those rustic whistles, without bark which I got from Colin. It's approximately in F and I LOVE the way it plays. Sort of recorderish, which to me is not a bad thing. The fact that this fellow supposedly makes these whistles with no power tools at all is simply astounding.
