God Forsaken
If everyone is godforsaken, and god needed us enough to create us, is god himself foresaken?
It doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you
To mean that much to you

I don't know, and while I understand and appreciate the appeal of long deep thinking sessions and conversations with such questions, I don't think they're of any practical importance. What matters is not if everyone is godforsaken, and god needed us enough to create us, is god himself foresaken, but rather what we are doing in the world to make it a better place right here and right now.

Well, to forsake means to leave or abandon.
If a man forsakes his wife, she can't forsake him. He is already gone. She is the husbandforsaken (she is the one who has been forsaken by her husband), he is the wifeforsaker (he is the one who has forsaken his wife).
So if a people is godforsaken, they have been abandoned by the god. That makes the god the peopleforsaker. The god cannot be be the peopleforsaker and the peopleforsaken at the same time. The god can't desert the people and be deserted by them at the same time---or at least it seems highly unlikely that each party would come to the decision to desert the other at the exact same time, although I suppose that can't be ruled out.

Thanks so much for taking time out from the good works to clear that one up.Cranberry wrote:I don't know, and while I understand and appreciate the appeal of long deep thinking sessions and conversations with such questions, I don't think they're of any practical importance. Foresaken? I don't know. Forsaken? I'm almost sure no one knows. But as the story goes...even without us, God still has his millions of angels...except he can't watch them procreate, I guess. But, I realize now it's not good to be sincere about such things unless of course one is ignorant.Flying Cement wrote:If everyone is godforsaken, and god needed us enough to create us, is god himself foresaken?

The answer is no. As God is a spirit rather than a corporeal being, there is no mouth for the burrito to interact with.Congratulations wrote:Can God microwave a burrito so hot not even he could eat it?

What if not everyone is God-forsaken, and God didn't need to create us?Flying Cement wrote:If everyone is godforsaken, and god needed us enough to create us, is god himself foresaken?
