Better than....

Michael Flatley can play the flute better than 98% of the people on this forum
Make that 99.9%.
I've never met anybody who knows him or who has worked with him who hasn't liked and respected Flatley. That's including Matt Molloy and Mike Rafferty.
His values might not be my values - nor his income anywhere near mine, hah! - but he's a great musician and dancer and a decent person.

Let's see, there's 5888 people currently inscribed on C&F. 2% means that there should be around 117 chiffers playing better than Mr. Flatley.

I'm bored too.

Are you conically bored or cylindrically bored?

On a technical note, what's with his (Flatley's) amplification rig? Is his headset a mike for the flute, or for his voice, or just to look a little more like Britney Spears?
OOOXXO

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

If anything, it would be B.S. trying to look like him.

And more or less succeeding.

Probably his hands-free mobile phone. He is Irish (or Irish-American wannabe Irish anyway), and the Irish never go anywhere without their mobile, do they? His studded leather attire probably lacks a convenient clipping place for him to carry a regular mobile. Perhaps he should consider a conveniently-placed piercing to hang one from. He does seem to have enough available flesh for one.

As for the rings on his flute, I believe they are merely his personal attempt to spice up an Olwell blackwood keyless flute. Olwells being so vanilla in their natural state, you know...

Hmm, I have worked with him, 100+ crew and dancers didn't quite feel the same as that.... though I agree he is an extremely talented man.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

See? No one's bored any more.

Flatley's reel-playing is utterly fabulous, IMHO.

Note the blue jacket on the right that he _could_ have been wearing...
At the end of it all, I want to be told "Well done". I don't want to _be_ well done!

That's his personal jacket that he wears before and after performances.
