I'll say a prayer for you when I say office tonight. Get well soon.

Thoughts and prayers are coming your way. There's no good time to be sick, but with a new little one and an older little one, that's just lousy.

I still have not heard the results of my tests. It's possible that they slipped through the cracks, so I am going to call today. I still have the bad symptoms. The good news, though, is that my son (and I) slept for a five-hour stretch last night!!! That really helped.

Good luck Jessie and take care. Get well soon.

I've been a bit off myself—nothing comparable—and, yes, the chicken soup helps.

It can be doubly hard to be sick like this, because you don't have the energy to be happy or involved. And even though people know you're sick, they can still have hurt feelings that you're not taking interest in their doings, or wanting to be part of things with them.

Do you have somebody wonderful to help be with the kids?

There will be a time you can look back and say, Wow, that was rough. Hope it comes soon.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes. :)

I think the antibiotic may be starting to work on the infection (and fever), albeit very slowly. I have some very troubling other symptoms, though. But I think I'll live.

Yes, Jennie, there is someone wonderful to help...my mom. She was away for a week, though (doing a show for me...she just got back on Tuesday afternoon). My dad misses her a lot, but I need her more right now. He's coming over tonight. My husband is incredibly busy right now at work (and was working constantly - near me, but working, nonetheless - during the delivery and in the two weeks that followed). This won't last forever. There will be peace and happiness and relaxation and good health someday...

Update:

My doctor called and woke me up this morning. The antibiotic I have been on is not, in fact, working. I have to start a more intense one today and, to my dismay, I have to stop breastfeeding. I could pump it and throw it away for a week, but that happened with my first baby and, during that week, the supply (which is already less than it should be) dwindled down to nothing. So, my boy got it for a month and now he will lose it. I am sad about it, but I know that a mommy in good health is more important.

Oh, that is a hard one. Nursing is such a great thing for both health and for bonding too. And pumping is a pain even when you're not sick. If you decide to do that, maybe you can rent a good pump. And if you don't, your little guy has already had a great start and will have his mom back to care for him soon... you take care of yourself! Glad you have your mom there.
