Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

No, that was one of the Tang sisters; Poon, I think.

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

There was an old woman from Phuket,
Who had a young daughter named Lukette,
The cook she did hire
Caught pancakes on fire
And so Lukette had Crêpe Suzette.

Poon and Tang,
Ask me again and I'll tell you the same.

When I lived in Vancouver, we had a Chinese/Viet restaurant on Kingsway named Fuh Bich N'iga :D . When I visited this last June it had closed down.

I must really be stupid, cause I really don't get this :-?
Really, what's wrong with the spelling? That's the way I've seen it spelled. A google search sort of confirmed this as well, 20 500 000 hits with that spelling.
I'm probably missing something obvious, I am feeling a bit dim today...
And of course, I enjoy limericks as much as the next guy, but does anyone have anything helpful to contribute?

Henke, your post and spelling are perfect. We're just poking fun at the tendency of many tourists to pronounce "Phuket" phonetically, which turns out being a nasty phrase in English. If you pronounce it correctly, as Jim suggested, you'll be fine. :)

Oh, I see. It didn't even cross my mind to pronounce it like that nasty phrase, but now that you mention it, I can see why people would do it.

Thanks for the link
