I'm heading to NYC on 31st October to pick up my B Gallagher set, and hanging around for a few days.
Is there any sessions happenin in any pubs round Manahatan or anywhere that's not too far away? I'll probably bring my D chanter with me if there's a chance of a tune somewhere.
Hopefully I'll still be in one bit by then-running the Dublin marathon again on 30th October - mighty craic!!!!
FYI: Seth's place is nearly 2 hours from the city, but this web site offers a session for every night of the week. Call the pubs first to confirm though.
aye dave, i tried the C&F one alright, some ifs and buts with a lot of the NYC sessions.
i'll try the website and ring a couple of pubs when i'm there. Thanks Neil.
far as i know, there's a train from Grand Central (i think that's the railway station) to Cold Spring every hour? better check these things out i suppose.
Yes, trains run hourly from Grand Central to Cold Spring. Look up the schedules here: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/ (Metro North).
I don't know exactly where Seth is, but he's got to be close to the station - Cold Spring is pretty small. And it's a really pretty town.

Real nice live CD with lots of talented local players. Also, I have an aunt named Mona and she is from Cloone (Co. Lietrim) and the CD has the Cloone reel on it. Was such a coincidence for me that I had to have it!
Great feckin' session at O'Neill's on 3rd ave and 45th on Saturdays and a pretty good one on Sundays. Let me know it you'll be there, i'll show up (sans pipes...i'm too much of a chicken sh*t).
