The Ads! The Ads! Or, what's in your name?

Post by Cathy Wilde »

A depressing thing about today's "targeted" C&F banner ads .... I keep seeing ads for self-cleaning cat litter boxes, scoopable cat litter, and a helpful product for people with copraphagic (i.e., poop-eating) pets.

I kept wondering why the heck that was happening on the Flute Forum until the light bulb came on .... :boggle:

I hear you can wait up to ten years for a litterbox from one of the top makers...

Does this mean Glauber gets Poop and Scoop ads?

Ads? What ads? Was my first thought. Then, I looked up, and there they were, kitty litter ads.

Blissful ignorance has its perks. Thanks for ruining it.

you do you realize that by talking about kitty litter, the ads then become about kitty litter (as they are now for me). let me see if i can talk about star wars. do you guys like star wars? darth vader is a good character, as well as luke skywalker. i'm wondering if talking about star wars will bring up some collectible star wars action figure advertisements.

--------------------
edit:

the kitty litter ads went away. but no star wars. any one willing to help?

And your edit brought them back! (Blanked out the pertinent information to avoid doing more of the same.)

Let's see ... Return of the Jedi The Empire Strikes Back I think that the Star Wars references have to outnumber the "other" references on this page to win out; unfortunately, my knowledge of Star Wars stuff is quite limited. I do know that Lucasfilms has kept quite a business going by selling related toys and other stuff related to the six Star Wars films. If this is going to work, some others will have to chip in.

The advertisements are most definitely targeted to the contents of the threads, and are sold as "targeted" ads.
