Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Seen on a roadside sign last week:

Extreme Forest Fire Danger:
Don't Even F*rt In The Woods

BTW, never, never, ever try to join the blue-flame with the assistance of a kerosene space heater. Just use a match.
Happily tooting when my dogs let me.

You can chirp some of the people all of the time,
You can chirp all of the pepple some of the time,
You can not chirp all of the people all of the time.

Sorry I was late.

You aren't talking about social situations? Well now that is interesting. See, for some of us, the more chirping ones of the species apparently, there wouldn't be a social situation in which one should have and another in which one shouldn't have. One wouldn't just suddenly realize "Oops, this is one of those social situations in which I shouldn't have!".
This is a point well made.

I'll just add that if one of any species simply did not engage in this horrifying practice . . . ever . . . one wouldn't have to worry about social situations OR the laundry.

Remember, a well-mannered person behaves the same way when alone as they do in public.

I saw a biography of an author recently--the little blurb on the back cover--which said she lived in Nashville or someplace with 3 boys and a husband, firmly believing that one key to happiness in that sort of situation was a large pair of tongs.

I'm beginning to see why. Brrrr.

I have to disagree. Some people have been able to acquire voluntary control of it and have amused audiences earned money by f^rting. Professionals. Some had enough control over the pitch to "play" little tunes.

His profession can also be referred to as a "Flatulist" or a "Fartiste."
This would indicate a classical approach to the instrument. One who performs in a traditional or folk style would be a "flatuler" or "farter."

Best wishes,
Jerry
