It's mid September and the West Nile Virus is spreading faster than anyone thought possible all over North America.

What I wish for is a REAL quick killer frost and deep cold winter,in as much of this continent as possible to kill as many mosquitoes as possible -- if it is doable.

Do you think that on the Autumal Equinox, September 22, that we all play COLD sounding tunes i.e
The frost is all over
Frost and Snow
The Month of January etc.

Anyone game, to see if there is any power in music.

Heeheehee. I just learned Frost is all Over, so I'll give it a go. I will be at a Celtic fest too, maybe that will amplify the effect.

I just learned The Month of January and As I Went Out Upon the Ice.
Ever since I had a run of good luck (I won't jinx it by explaining) after practicing Banish Misfortune intensively for a week, I don't doubt the "white" magic aspect of whistling....

I'll play the Sound of Sleat - even though I know the Sleat (pronounced "slate") is a body of water. At least it sounds cold!

To date I believe Il has had 16 deaths from the West Nile Virus. I am a bit concerned as our little combo is playing in the park on the 28th. The mosquitoes have been dreadful there all summer and they have also found dead birds. Nobody seems to be too concerned (but me). Heading for TX as soon after as I can. Would be nice to have a frost between
now and then. :???: Gm

Don't rush, it's here too! We've only had a few cases and I don't think any deaths here in north Texas, though. Lots of real insect repellent (i.e. containing a heavy dose of DEET, none of that pansy organic stuff) seems to be the order of the day.

I feel ever so much better, John. I'm sure there won't be any where I'm headed...no rain. BTW.....when we did have mosquitoes in Harlingen, I was desperate for a repellent one day and didn't have any... so I splashed some mouth wash all over my legs and arms.....and it worked ! At least for me. Gm
