Three years. Not that that was wise. A group of us performed this past weekend at the St. Paul Irish Fair. Check out the photographic evidence at http://www.gnipc.org.

Fun was had by all, except perhaps the audience.

*ADDED* And now I see that TommyK has already posted a thread. Teach me to post before looking at other new threads.

Oh...about 9, uh, months...

And it was a recording gig...Got hired to play pipes & low whistle on my friend Laurel Brauns' debut album "Swimming." Turned out pretty decently, I thought, but I gotta say thank God for studio technology!

First live gig was after about five years, I guess.

the first official gig was 7 months after i began playing and ill admit a little too soon .........but after i had been playing for 3 months i visitied my grandfather and played for him. later that night he had several friends over for a visit and he made me drag out my pipes and play for them. it wasnt all that great but i could see the pride in his face as i played. a moment with my grandfather ill never forget!

I did a gig there last week for the postman, the humidity in the back of the
van was failry poor, but he'd opened the windows by the time id reached the part of the Foxchase where the badger dies... It was my first gig and i've been playing for sixty seven years.. (not including the mandatory 21 years).

... so, um, how much did you make off the gig. Postmen can be generous if they have a mind... and a few beers in 'em. :D
