Perseid in the Light

Thanks for the reminder about the Perseids. When I lived in the country I made a point of watching them every year (peak is usually around August 12). My favorite Perseid-watch was about 15 years ago, floating around in a canoe on Spoonwood Pond in southern New Hampshire, well after midnight, fortified by Drambuie and Oreos. An ideal combination of the sublime and the ridiculous.

Nightly hot tub and sky watch...no oreos.

Enough indulgence there and you'd have the extra advantage of seeing twice as many meteorites as everyone else.
