OT: Pics from our trip
Here are the pics from our trip. Some good scenic shots in there, anyway, and one obligatory whistle shot!

So you did get downtown and out to the river!
The fountain at Riverfront Park actually replaced a flower bed - the other fountain that they want people to stay out of is over by the Opera House a couple of blocks away. I'm glad the state dropped the parking charge at state parks - for a while we had to pay $5 to park by the Bowl and Pitcher.
So where did you finally decide on for the anniversary dinner?

We ended up opting for The Olive Garden. We were going to go in with Tony's parents and get them a gift card for some place really snazzy, but they were really so adamant about people not giving gifts, so we just decided to use the in-laws' money as they'd originally planned. As it turned out, mom and dad were thrilled...they've never been to The Olive Garden, and they haven't been downtown in a long time, so this will give them some impetus.Charlene wrote:So you did get downtown and out to the river!

That's right...I was getting my fountains/flowerbeds mixed up. It's been so long! I used to work there, you know...I worked in the popcorn wagons during high school and in the old Visitor's Information Center that used to be in the train station building during college (and, of course, at the Folklife Festival during Expo, as a volunteer), so I can never resist going downtown.
I think the new fountain is a lovely addition, and it's so good to see the gondolas going again! (I like the look of the new ones).
We were also really impressed with the MAC. When I lived there, it was just the old Cheney Cowells (which was pretty pathetic) and the old MONAC (which was nice, but small). Spokane's needed a good museum like that, I think. If you get a chance to see the "Cars and Costumes" exhibit while it's still there, it's worth a trip.
It was also fun to go out to Riverside State Park again. Last time I was there, I was about 22, and on a raft (and scared to death at the thought of shooting the Bowl and Pitcher!).

Redwolf,
Amazing pictures! I was envious of the mountains and forests, my favorite environment. I was also amazed at some of the coincedenses.
I have a daughter Elizbeth, AKA little Bob, who looked just like jo at 13 even down to the hair. Her glasses now are matches to Jo's and facial features are close enough to be sisters. And the Whimsical tree in you dad's yard has a brother in my back yard (same mustache even).
Sounds like you had a grand time and plenty of time to ...

See, that's the danger of a digital camera. I threw away more than half the shots I took!djm wrote:Looks like you had fun. I'm glad you were able to restrain your photo collection to just a few significant shots, enough to tell the tale, but not so many as to become redundant.
