Or a cruise. Yeah, a cruise would be nice. 24 hour food, drink, and craic. And best of all, no escape! :D
Then some of us can dress up like pirates, and say some really smart things like: "Yarrrrrrr" or "Avast ye scurvy dogs" or "Arrrrr, I gotta go to the little cabin boy's room"... :D

Here you go -- the perfect spot for a get-together for the residents of the continental United States -- Lebanon, Kansas, the Geographic Center of the Contiguous United States.
This nifty stone marker isn't actually smack dab in the center (that's over the hill in a nearby hog farm) but it's still nice to look at . . .

. . . or get your picture taken at . . .

. . . or just stand on top of and act like a goofball.

There's a motel right next to the monument --

-- and we can probably get the chapel as a performance venue.

The friendly folks of Lebanon will be happy to see us.

If you get tired of chiffing, there's a ton of things to do in Lebanon: Lammeys' Cafe, Betty's Beauty Bar, and the Higby Bros. Gun Shop # 1, to name but a few.
And you could always pop on over to Osbourne, Kansas, and check out the Geodetic Center of the United States.
So let's all head to Lebanon -- it's equally inconvenient for all of us.

(I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it that weekend.)

I like Kansas because it gave us Melissa Etheridge.

I think in a war between Israel and Kansas, Melissa Etheridge would win.

I'll come and not play the whistle. I have a reputation as a bad whistle player to maintain.
That's odd -- I maintain _my_ reputation as a bad whistle player by actually playing!

And I thought that Kansas gave us Kerry Livgren, Steve Walsh, etc...

Darn. I was just gonna make a similar remark.

I've met a few people from this board. In order: Thurlowe, Duckthustra(?), Martin, Missy, Chattiekathy. I hope I didn't miss any. I've met even more folks from ED thanks to Kathy and Missy.

It's odd that for years my opinion of message boards were that it wasn't real. It didn't matter what crap you made up because you weren't talking to people, you were typing stuff on a keyboard responding to stuff someone else made up on a keyboard. Hangingaround here for a couple years and really meeting people has changed that entirely.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Then I will take special care not to meet anyone here. I wouldn't want to have to start taking responsibility for any of the nonsense I type. :D
