After I heard about this on NPR while doing errands, I immediately stopped for Mentos and Diet Coke and tried it at home. Very satisfying.

Last week one of the British papers had an article about "the Mentos and Diet Coke craze sweeping America".

I saw it in "Metro", the freesheet from London Transport, three weeks ago. I did wonder when it would pop up here...

I wondered too, and decided to just go ahead and post it myself.

I can't wait to read the discussions about harnessing this energy for powering bellows for pipes...

We actually conducted this experiment right after seeing it on the Discovery Channel. It's real and it's spectacular.

A while back, somebody posted a link to a video of an English gal who ate a roll of mentos and then chased them down with 2 liters of Pepsi, the result was... well let's just say, spetacular.

Does anyone have the link to that video? My wife wanted to see it, she shares my rather morbid sense of humor.

Maybe a whistle made out of Menthos is in order.

I saw the Menthos demo on Dave Letterman a few nights ago.

I believe that would be... PepsiGirl. My comment is, "If only they were brains." Your wife will probably agree.

Thanks for the link, it gave me a reference point.

I drink Diet Coke and occasionally eat Mentos. I'm lucky to be alive.

We used to get similar results, when I was a kid, with Sprite and a candy called Spree.
