Video Killed The Radio Star

Post by Bloomfield »

O.M.G.

Check this out: http://www.freephotosandvideos.com/

music videos from the eighties & early nineties. I cannot describe my emotional state, and you probably wouldn't want me to if I could. To replicate it, try:

A Flock of Seagulls: Space Age Love Song
Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry: Spinning Round
Nick Cave: The Mercy Seat
The Waitresses: I Know What Boys Want
Blondie: Call Me
Trio: Da Da Da
Sinead O'Conor: Nothing Compares to You
Bobby Brown: Every Little Step
The Pogues: Brown Eyes
Soul II Soul: Back 2 Life

That should set you up even without illicit substances. :boggle:

P.S.: The reckless will go straight to The Waitresses.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Very famous song, indeed. You need to get out more, Walden. ;)

Oh, and as an aside: The Ramones are such a joke. They're the punk band to whose concert you take your mommy. The Mr. Rogers of punk.

To this day I could never square their punk status with their hair.

The world-weary or foolhardy might want to proceed straight to Boney M: Kalimba de Luna. Eh. Oh. ooh-Ah.

(Boney M, btw, were a front for a Frank Farian project, a distinction they shared with Milli Vanilli. Not that I follow these things.)

Oh, goodness. I had forgotten about Bronski Beat. Now I remember. I liked having had forgotten Bronski Beat. Speaking about forgetting if you don't think the hair could really have been all that bad, there is Bob Geldof in the Boomtown Rats' Tell me Why, and there is Culture Club, too.

Kind of a hodge-podge. Note that group names prefixed with "The"are in the "T" section. No "Groovemaster". Hey! Roxy Music - "More Than This". Some good stuff hidden away in here.

I'd like to see the famous Grateful Dead video from the mid 70's. They played U.S Blues and it was a mind bender.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

A great collection.
I don't know if the Proclaimers were very well known over on the other side of the pond but they are woth a look. I remember a gang of us once being asked to leave a pub over our singing along to the juke box on 500 miles

Nice to see His Bobness in there as well. He rarely makes videos.

Slan,
D. :)
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.
