This sale has ended.

http://www.greenlinnet.com

Green Linnet is having a sale this weekend only...$7 for CDs and $4 for cassettes, free shipping! I just ordered Joanie Madden's A Whistle on the Wind. I thought it was only a few things on sale but everything I looked at was on it. I just ran a search on the artist's name.

Thanks to FoolofaTook for giving me the heads-up on this!

Kim

Here are a few of the titles Green Linnet carries:

Lake Effect(Liz Carroll), Lost In The Loop(Liz Carroll), In Concert(Kevin Burke, completely solo, no accompaniment), Steam(John WIlliams), Otherworld(Lunasa), Merry Sisters of Fate(Lunasa), all of Altan's stuff, Old Blind Dogs' stuff, Eileen Ivers(self titled), Wild Blue(Eileen Ivers), Out of the Gap(Sharon Shannon), Each Little Thing(Sharon Shannon), Shantalla(Shantalla), Portland(Kevin Burke w/ Michael O'Donnell), Promenade(Kevin Burke w/Michael O'Donnell)...

Those are just a few of the great albums! If you're still reading this, you shouldn't be! Go check out the rest of the catalog. Just remembered, Martin Hayes is on that label as well, and the Tannahill Weavers...

I am forever grateful to Green Linnet for anything by Dick Gaughan. Handful of Earth has to be one of the best CD's ever. No whistle here but- what a voice!

Grrr....I just ordered from them about a month ago when they had their $16 CD's for $10 and their $8 CD's for $5. Hmm...A few more CD's can't hurt...Sounds like me and whistles

Help, I don't know what to buy!!!!!!!
I want a whistle album where they play PRETTY! No ITRAD or run-together-with-
too-many-incidentals music; just Irish
tunes slowed-down to sound pretty with
nice lite accompaniment.
So, which ones should I buy, Kim?

You're asking me??? LOL I got the Joanie Madden one because John-N suggested it. Prior to this, "It's a Small World" was my specialty.

Lolly, for slow traditional tunes, look at their Celtophile compilation cd's. There's not a ton of whislte on them, but they are whislte-friendly tunes. Some tracks may be considered a bit 'New-Agey,' if that bothers you. (Joannie Madden is on some of them.)Many are fairly traditional renditions. The titles are a bit goofy, but don't let that distract you.
My Gentle Harp
Ireland's Most Beautiful Melodies
Season of Mists
There are a few more. If GreenL doesn't have sound clips, I've listened to some on Amazon.com. You can search on Amazon under 'Celtophile.'

Well, I just went through the whole list, am getting Lunasa's Merry Sisters of Fate, Jerry O'Sullivan's The Invasion, Patrick Street's Compendium and could not resist Gaelic Voices. I can't wait. Thanks, Kim In Tulsa.

Thanks, Kim In Tulsa.
You are welcome, but I can't take any of the credit. C&Fer FoolofaTook emailed me and let me know. I'm just the gabbier of the two of us and posted it.

I am thrilled that everyone is finding bargains!
