Walden, I apologize for highjacking your thoughtful thread and causing it's termination.

Thank you both for the kind and gracious apology, but, having discussed the thread with the moderator who locked it, I feel relatively certain it wasn't your fault.

If anyone owes an apology it's me. I oughtn't to have brought up the subject of the chatroom in the Pub Forum.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

If we didn't post topics for fear they MIGHT turn ugly, we'd never post anything.

I was surprised at the animus toward the chatroom by a few. Wow.

I have never been to the chatroom, but after reading the locked thread, If I were to go there, I'd probably use an assumed name, like maybe rounding down to gonzo910 or even gonzo900, so noone would know it was me.

I have been to the chatroom many, many times...several years ago I was pretty much a regular; lately, I rarely get to say more than hi because I can't stay long.

The chat room was and remains, as far as I can tell, a very friendly, welcoming place.

Even people who are barely civil to each other on the forums were capable of chatting together like old friends.

It was kinda nice.

I hope to get to visit more often.

Dudes and dudesses, we are skating perilousy close to the issue of Point #2 in Dale's sticky post about moderating the boards. How about resorting to PMs, please? Thanks.

You have no idea how painful it is, too.

See? I'm so worked up, you guys made me misspell "perilously". Made it look like "peri-lousy". I can't even dredge up a coinage out of that.
