I just used the total posts number instead of checking all the forums because checking all of them was just too much work. I suspect the total posts is higher because it includes posts in deleted threads and possibly messages. Yes, this does skew things, but in the direction of reducing the NIMROD rating.I.D.10-t wrote: I only end up with 1669, not the number under my avatar.
You may have to scroll down on the prompt list. It's labelled Politics, Conspiracy Theories and Other Controversial Topics. The Controversial board didn't even show up as an option.
Special note: It looks like you can use the Catagory field as a search criterion. Leave Forum set to All Available and Off-Topic (More or Less) as the Category. It seems to include just the Pub and PoliConCon. The totals matched for me, but it may include forums I've never posted in.

Duplicate post -- replaced with this nice poem -- "Ancient Music" from Ezra Pound.
Ezra Pound wrote:Winter is icumen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Damm you; Sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm,
So 'gainst the winter's balm.
Sing goddamm, damm, sing goddamm,
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?gonzo914 wrote:X = Non-Irish Music Related, Off-topic Discussion coefficient (your NIMROD rating).
Well my T, according to search, is 1117, which is really off from what's
under my avatar (which is just shy of 2000!)... I must have posted in
the missing Fusion Forum more than I'd thought!
So, depending on which T you trust, my X is either .502 or .281
I think I'll go with gonzo's original statement of "what's under your
avatar", because it makes me look way better.

When you searched, you had Topics selected, so it just gave you the threads you posted in. If you select Posts, you'll get 1942 ( as of this writing).fearfaoin wrote: Well my T, according to search, is 1117, which is really off from what's

So the .281 is your correct NIMROD rating.

True. Unfortunately, he has a such a collection of . . . hmm, I don't know how to phrase it . . . "loud" ones that one horror appears after another.
He seems to select them with an eye toward their ability to hit you in the face. To me, they're like being subjected to a sudden very loud noise or a bright flash.
When I was very small, my much-older brother terrorized me by leaping out of closets shrieking hideously, by shining bright lights in my face and screaming in the middle of the night, and by sneaking up behind me to bash metal trash can lids together an inch away from my head. (Apparently, I was somewhat oblivious to the presence of others and this was supposed to get me to pay attention.)
Cran's avatars have much the same effect.

Giving ma an "Average Joe" position of .47 ... (wipes brow... whew! That was a lot of work!)
I resent being called "average" almost as much as being labeled a "Joe"! ... (of course, "average" might be considered an upgrade if we are talking actual whistling abilities. )
edited to add... and why do I suddenly have a craving for Pi?
