Well, I work at the campground my grandmother manages, and Memorial Day is our second most busy weekend of the year (behind July 4), so I'll be working 4 10-hour days this weekend. Ugh.

Sure.
I'm on call, and will probably be working.

And this weekend is traditionally my favorite of the whole year....

Saturday, possible bike ride to Kew Gardens, weather permitting
Sunday, lunch at the in-laws, and some gardening lessons from my FIL.
Monday we are going to http://kingstongreenfair.org.uk/ because it looks interesting...never been to it before. If it's boring we'll probably just wander around Kingston a bit.
Tuesday I start my new job :D

I've been working a lot lately and my bones and muscles are killing me, so my plans are to rest. I want to actually sleep past 7am.

well, since we aren't having our festival this year (no financial backing :sniffle: ), we'll just hit Taste of Cincinnati sometime. Tom is going to the Reds game with some friends that are in town (guy thing).

Bill Staines is in town tonight for a small concert - we may go to that, although we've seen Bill several times before.

Emm - I envy you going to see PHC. That'll be great.

Missy - Too bad about the festival. I can't believe it's been a year already.

Av - Congrats on the new job.

Tonight I'm doing nothing in particular. Probably playing a game of Civ III.

Tomorrow a nice long bike ride then something involving being outside. Maybe a bonfire Saturday night. If not maybe a game of dominos in our gazebo.
Sunday I play at church. It'll be my last time this summer. Afterwards get ready for the big cookout Monday and more outdoor stuff. Maybe some frisbee tossing or disc golf.

Monday. Probably some more riding and later a cookout at my sister's.

Filling a skip with 20 years' accumulated rubbish. The skip arrived an hour ago. Because we live in the middle of nowhere it will be a rare example of a skip that doesn't miraculously fill up overnight with other people's rubbish. :D Trying like King Canute to stop nature from swamping my garden. If it ever stops raining, going out on the sea-cliffs to see the wild flowers. I may even dip one toe in the Atlantic, but one toe only as the sea temperature is 12°C (54°F).

We just celebrated Victoria Day in Canada last Monday, May 22nd. I have heard of Memorial Day in the US. What is the holiday for in England?

djm
I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.
