Avatar Poll/ Your opinion of animated avatars

Post by Monster »

I thought that I'd celebrate my 500th post by adding an avatar to my profile. I like the idea of dice, but find the motion of this free avatar slightly annoying..

I've seen more annoying avatars, I especially don't like ones that flash different colors or that undergo radical transformation.

Tell us, what do you think?

I never thought about animated avatars before... they must not bother me then. I guess I'm indifferent. I think the best avatars are original ones.

Straycat, I like originality too so perhaps by my 1000th post I'll have a homemade avatar to put up.

The dice are gone! I figured why have an avatar that bothers me even a little bit?? This new journaling avatar suits me better.

I had some rotating dice up, (for a very short while) they irritated me, so I wrote up this whole poll, (not being able to make up my own mind sort of thing).

I then had an epiphany, I didn't like the dice; I took them down. Now unfortunately I don't know how to get rid of the whole poll, so it's still hanging around, floating detrtitus of cyberspace.

I think moving avatars are annoying !! Apart from those bouncing boobies that I remeber seeing on this forum once upon a time. I have never been the same since !! :boggle:

I agree with Mikk.

That'd be stewysmoot's av if memory serves...

I used to do more animated avatars, but now that ad isn't around as much, it's just not as fun :sniffle: So now I'm back to my original one, and I'll probably keep it for quite some time. I think I've become boring in my old age

I don't normally do animated ones. My current one was stolen without shame or reservation.

Tell us something.: From the land beyond beyond. From the time past hope and fear. I bid you, Genie, now appear! Well, the Genie did not appear but the notification to type at least 100 characters did so I am back and typing some more as you, if anyone actually sees this, can probably tell.

I dislike them to the extent that I disable animation in my browser.

Good thing yours isn't animated. I've been to a bull fight recently, and it wasn't pretty. I'd hate to see anything happen to your flute. :o

I don't like them much. They are distracting, especially the extremely busy ones, and especially if I'm at work and someone walks by! Actually, StewySmoot's avatar is the reason I rarely go online while my students are anywhere near.

And then, I never remember what he actually said...

I did like the one of the fire-breathing whistle, though.

They give me migraines, especially if they're in-your-face with rapid movement.
