I might have made a recording of myself. BE FOREWARNED: I have been playing not quite two years and claim no expertise. The clip is Carolan's Concerto as played (with no warm-up beforehand or editing afterward) on a Feadog brass whistle in D. Well, I say I didn't "edit" it, but I did have to use Audacity to amplify the volume a bit, as I had my input level set too low, and I didn't have my headphones on to check it. Otherwise, unedited and unprocessed.
For those interested, this was recorded on a Marantz PMD660 with a Beyer MCE-58 handheld condenser microphone.

I've always loved that tune. I thought that it needed to be played on a harp or another instrument that can play chords. Your version shows me that I was wrong.
I am not a trad or itm "guy" but I've listened to a ton as it is my heritage. You really did a great job mate, well done. If your not a Brit this take will be your formal induction into our culture, I herby dub you Congrats the Brit (Tapps left and right shoulder witha Chieftain Low D).
Nice job Congrats, on O'Carrolan's Concerto. Lovely playing.
But I fail to see how O'Carrolan has anything to do with being a "Brit"? I am also uncertain whether or not "Brit" is an acceptable term to refer to Brittish folk by.
Good clip, mate. Nicely played, and Feadogs are my favourite whistles.
And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
