Your favourite kids TV shows (with references)
Prompted by part of the "Who Do You Say That I Am?" thread in the rubber room...

One of my favourite shows when I was a kid was Catweasel. It was silly, but I loved it.
http://propaganda.com.au/catweazle/about.shtml
It was about an incompetent sorceror who accidentally magicked himself from Norman Britain to England in the 1970s (the time of the show's production).

And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

Yeh, Spongebob is good.Flyingcursor wrote:My favorite was always Captain Kangaroo.
When my kids were little I liked The Elephant Show and Fred Penner's Place.
My current favorite is Spongebob Squarepants. I watch it even if my grandkids aren't around on the rare times I watch TV.

I don't know if it's on anymore, but when my daughter was young, we all LOVED "The Puzzle Place." "Arthur," "Bill Nye the Science Guy" and, of course, "Sesame Street" were all hits with the whole family as well.
When I was little, Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room were the only real games in town, but I loved both of them.
And, of course, who can forget "Schoolhouse Rock"? It wasn't actually a show...rather "shorts" between Saturday morning cartoons...but I loved it, and when Jo was little, she also fell in love with it, thanks to CDs and videos. I still sing the Preamble to the Constitution!
